Modular Typography

This project created almost solely in Adobe Illustrator, apart from some light hand sketches in the early phases, was to design a modular typeface. Mine consisting of only 5 modules. My modules were inspired by the work of Paula Scher, after studying her techniques and different works I was inspired to create a legible but funky typeface to represent her work as well as my style from her inspiration.

Below is one of many drafts created to help develop the typeface, as well as the modules set alongside it to help move them around. This is a screenshot taken directly from Adobe Illustrator during the process.

Below are the two "posters" designed alongside the typeface to showcase the whole alphabet as well as the modules and inspiration used to create it.

Below are all the final poster format iterations of the typeface, in different colours, to showcase the font in a way that was more interesting than a plain ABC's poster. Using the pangram "Have a pick: twenty six letters- no forcing a jumbled quiz!" As well as also having all the letters "jumbled" at the bottom.
